Georges Clooney fait un excellent travail de mémoire par ce film; Edward Murrow (et Fred Friendly) deux journalistes de CBS durant les années 50, ont tenu tête au sénateur McCarthy qui par sa chasse "aux sorcières" (les communistes installés aux états unis) se permettait toutes les censures, et tous ceux qui osaient faire face...étaient qualifiés d'ANTI-Patriotes (ça rappelle quelque chose non??).Ed.Murrow résista, et par son émission en direct "see it now", réussi à remettre en question les méthodes de pression et d'investigation de McCarthy...jusqu'à le faire juger!!!
Le film commence par un speech de Ed.Murrow lors d'une cérémonie en son honneur, ses mots son terriblement d'actualité...il parle du rôle de la télévision qui peut être un vrai outil d'Education , d'Apprentissage, d'Informations, de Diffusion de la culture un outil de liberté, et non d'abrutissement…ce qu’elle est en grande partie maintenant.
Le message de G.Clooney est d’autant plus touchant, qu’il est très actuel, Ed.Murrow est souvent filmé en gros plan…il nous parle, il parle au monde.
Une de ces phrases était (à peu près) : « Il faut d’abord arriver à une justice et une liberté dans son propre pays, avant d’aller l’imposer aux autres… »
Ce film me rappelle l’idée de base de Michael Moore (Fahrenheit 911)…mais à force de crier, finalement on ne l’entend peut-être pas très bien, G.Clooney est plus subtil.

Et si l'idée de voir une filme de haute contenu intellectuelle, qui ose être subversif et non pas à la mode n'est pas assez pour t'attirer au ciné, sachez qu'il y a une possibilité augmenté de rencontrer de nouveaux amis pendant ce filme, n'est-ce pas Nabil?
Seriously, if you don't want to watch this movie then see "Viva Zapatero", both are excellent and the directors dare to criticize the very establishment that made them who they are: the media. "Viva Zapatero" is more entertaining but also specific to the situation in Italy. For a deeper movie, go see "Good Night and Good Luck".

J'espère que tu as pu voir le film,
j'aime de plus en plus ce que fait G.Clooney et S.soderbergh..de par leur societé de production "section 8"....l'idée de gagner des sous par des films grand public, et tres "entertaining"...pour réinvestir dans "gd night..." ou plus récemment "Syriana" (un prochain post j'espere)
